Bali (2)

Second day of Bali began with a BLAST. G managed to secure the services of a driver Tonny who picked us up for a day trip around Bali. This is a brief summary of our trip: Seminyak -> Ubud -> Mt Balut -> Blue Lagoon -> Kuta, Legian Beach -> Seminyak. But first, am awesome breakfast greeted us in the morning, delivered by the friendly staff to our villa - western and indonesian breakfast options. One thing Indonesias does very well is Nasi Goreng (simple dish but absolutely heavenly. I am of the opinion that the simple ones are often the hardest to execute).

First stop of the day at Ubud and we went to the palace to walk around for a bit before exploring the town further. Wish we could have had a guide to explain to us more the significance of the palace but oh well.... we had to settle for taking pictures and just walking around.

Shopping around the town. Some of the stores had really cute stuff, just oh so expensive!
Views of the street during the drive around Bali. The weekend that we were in Bali also concided with the Hindu Christmas (or at least that's how the driver described it). So we would see many people walking along the streets celebrating the festival and everyone was dressed in their traditional clothes which was very nice to see.
One of the highlights of the trip - seeing the terranced rice fields of Ubud. Only meant to be a short stop to take photos but that the sight was pretty astounding and we stayed for longer than expected.
