Bali (1)

Greetings from Bali from our humble villa in Seminyak - gotten for a very good deal via Agoda.com. The girls finally decided to make the trip a reality and one night we got together and did the bookings. Obviously, it was a much smaller group from the previous discussions but I suppose that deep inside, we knew that it was also going to be just us three. No offense but we probably just know the rest too well. Our villa is called Uma Sapna and is located in a quiet street over the main Seminyak shopping area. I was so glad that we stayed in this part of Bali and not Kuta - that's an update for later.
The villa is really beautiful and its actually meant for couples as one can tell by the layout. No doors so showers and toliet is quite in the (private) open. The modest me had a few hilarious movements where I would pick to shower or wash up first and told the girls to not step in when I was doing so.
The trip was also partly a secret plan between L and me to celebrate G's impending wedding plans. A trip down memory lane so immediately once we got settled in, we got onto quiz time and asked her questions about our friendship spanning 10 years. True enough, she was caught off guard and there's a really funny shot of her rolling round the bed in agony while she tries valiantly to remember... too bad... she has to wear the flower garland.
A interesting afternoon as the girls had been highly recommended to visit this beach club/restaurant called potatohead. I swear, up till then, I had never even heard of the club - just followed the crowd. With two highly organized girls with a huge list of KPIs to meet, I figured the best was not to add on to it. Then when we got there, surprise surprise, it was full crowded and we couldn't get a day bed or even table (plus I think the waitresses were really rude to the girls) so we left with a bad taste in our mouth.

After looking through the list of recommended restaurants from G's friends, we decided to try this other place called La Cucciola, an Italian restaurant along the same stretch of beach as Potatohead. Wow, big difference. Not only did they have a table, they had a really great view of the beach which we immediately went down to take pictures after placing our orders. First time (as far as I can remember) in a black sand beach and it was really nice.
And yes, we got into the jumping picture frenzy... really fun!!!
And after slightly exhausting ourselves, we saw this asian girl posing and I mean literally posing. And her camera boyfriend was being so sweet in helping her to take all the awesome angled shots that we started doing our own model poses (but we will be the first to admit that we are amateurs at this posing shit). Bottom right - me attempting to pose with my scarf since the winds were quite breezy in the evening but of course horribly failing.
Shot of us three!
The wonderful sunset view from our table at the restaurant. I'm quite glad we didn't end up in Potatohead
Snapshots from our dinner. The staff were really accommodating with us and even volunteered to help take a picture for us! The food is not fantastic - dinner cost 1.2 million rupiah! But then, we are paying for the view and the experience.
Last shot of the night because we went back to the hotel. While the girls went to a spa for massage, I just hightailed it back to the villa and watched DVDs and enjoyed solitude for a few hours :) Bliss!
